Anaïs Nin: “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom”
And so I took myself out for a walk, a long slow walk. So many 'B' words for this day of the challenge, books, belonging, blossoming… and as I sat by the water gazing at families enjoying the sunshine, couples getting all 'kissy kissy', I felt this strong yearning to belong. Writer and inspirational speaker Matt Kahn said in a recent talk that sadness helps us in many ways to have an emotional garage sale. We release all that which no longer works.
And so we blossom, we bloom when we are ready, not a moment before.
We reach out for hands to hold, hearts to touch and finally realise in the still quiet moments of solitude, all that we wish to blossom and bloom was inside our souls all along. We simply needed to lean into the emotion so we could feel it.
We all belong, we all blossom and bloom, when we are ready and from within first.
